How to use the online alarm clock
You have just woken at 12:02 am, with the last train still to meet at the station and nothing yet gathered for the journey. Set the alarm before getting out of bed, then use the time before 1:00 am to dress, check the platform information and allow for the walk or taxi to the station.
Because missing the signal could mean missing the train, test the alarm now rather than discovering a problem when you need to leave. Set a temporary alarm a minute ahead, raise the volume to a level you can hear from across the room, and confirm that the sound plays. A browser alarm cannot sound after its active session has been closed or the machine has gone to sleep, so relying on it that way could leave your station departure without a warning.
While preparing for a station trip after midnight, keep the screen dim enough that it does not dominate the dark room. Use a warmer display setting if available, check the alarm time once, and place the screen face down after the test. A small lamp can make tickets, keys and clothes easier to find without repeatedly looking into a bright display.

Can I change the sound?
Yes, there is a short list of tones to pick from before you press Start. Softer sounds are easy to sleep through, so a firmer bell tends to be the safer choice for anything early in the morning.
Will it still be right when the clocks change?
Yes. It reads your device's local clock, so the move between GMT and BST at the end of March and October is picked up automatically, as long as the computer's date, time and time zone are set correctly.
Can I use this on a phone?
It works in a mobile browser, but phones lock the screen and suspend background tabs far more readily than a laptop does, which can stop the alarm sounding. For anything important, a desktop or a plugged-in laptop is the steadier option.
