Privacy policy
This policy explains what happens to information when you use uk-ti.me. It is written to meet the requirements of the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. The short version is that this site is built so that there is very little personal data to handle in the first place.
There is no registration and no data collection form
You cannot create an account on this site, because there are no accounts. You are not asked for a name, an email address, a telephone number, a date of birth or any other identifying detail in order to set an alarm, run a timer or use a calculator. There are no sign-up forms, no newsletter boxes and no contact forms that capture what you type.
What stays on your device
Alarm times, timer settings, calculator inputs and your cookie choice are held in your browser's own local storage, on the device you are using. This information is not transmitted to this site's servers, is not readable by us, and is not attached to any identifier. It stays where it was written until you clear your browsing data for this site, which removes it entirely.
Analytics
A visitor analytics script is used to count visits and to see which pages are being used, so that broken or pointless pages can be found and fixed. It only loads if you have given consent to non-essential cookies. Decline, and it is not loaded at all — no script, no request, no counting — and every tool on the site continues to work exactly as before. Where the data collected by that script constitutes personal data under UK GDPR, the lawful basis relied on is your consent, which you may withdraw at any time by clearing this site's stored data and declining when asked again.
Server logs
Like any web server, the server hosting this site records ordinary technical information about requests, which can include an IP address, the page requested, and the time of the request. This is used to keep the site running and secure, and is retained no longer than is needed for that purpose. The lawful basis for this limited processing is legitimate interests: operating and protecting the site.
Your rights under UK GDPR
You have the right to be informed about how your data is used, and rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, together with the right not to be subject to solely automated decision-making. Because this site holds no user accounts and no records that identify you, in practice there is normally nothing held about you for those rights to be exercised over beyond what sits in your own browser and can be deleted by you at any moment. If you believe otherwise, you can make a request using the details published on the contact page and it will be answered within one month.
Children
These tools are suitable for all ages and no information is knowingly collected from anyone, including children. Since nothing is submitted and no profile is built, no age verification is required or performed.
Complaints
If you have a concern about how this site handles data, please raise it using the contact page first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK's independent data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk, or by telephone through their published helpline.
Changes
This policy will be updated if the site's use of analytics, advertising or any other third-party service changes, and any such change will be reflected here before it takes effect. [Insert last updated date.]
