Everything runs on your own device and nothing you enter leaves it, which is the other reason the site stays this plain: there is no account to manage, no history being kept and nothing to sign out of when you have finished.

The pages work in a mobile browser, but alarms and timers depend on the tab staying open and the screen staying awake, which is harder to guarantee on a phone than on a desktop.

Where do I check whether a date is a bank holiday?

Either the bank holidays section, which lists each one with the nations that observe it, or the calendar page for that individual date, which gives the same answer in context.

Is anything I type stored or sent anywhere?

No. The calculators and timers run entirely in your browser, and any settings they remember stay in your own device's storage.
