Halfway through another job, a 7:11 am alarm provides the interruption needed to put the Royal Mail postal sack outside. It marks the moment clearly, so the sack does not remain by the door while attention stays on the task already under way. With 8:00 am still ahead, there is also time to check that the opening is secure and the sack is in its usual collection spot.

Because this reminder must break into an activity, its reliability depends on the computer or phone remaining awake until 7:11 am. The alarm can be labelled for the postal sack, and the volume can be checked while setting it, but it will not sound if the browser has been closed or the machine has fallen asleep before the chosen time. A separate phone alarm is sensible when the screen is likely to be left unattended.
