How to use the online alarm clock
You have just woken up, and collecting your child from the after-school club is the first thing that needs organising. Set the alarm for 3:01 pm before getting out of bed, then check how long the journey usually takes and whether you will walk, drive or catch a bus. With 4:00 pm still ahead, there is time to get ready without turning the afternoon into a rush.
Your pickup reminder must be noticeable over whatever will be happening around you. Choose a strong volume, test the signal once, and avoid leaving the phone beside a television, running tap or noisy kitchen appliance that could mask it. The after-school club pickup needs a separate backup reminder if you end the browser session or allow the phone to sleep, because this alarm will not sound in those circumstances.
Before heading out for the afternoon pickup, have some water and, if you have not eaten since morning, a light snack such as toast, fruit or yoghurt. A large meal can wait until after the journey, especially if you need to leave promptly or walk to the school. Keep a drink near your keys or coat so it is easy to take along, but skip anything that needs lengthy preparation close to departure time.

What happens if my laptop goes to sleep before 3:01 pm?
The tab sleeps along with it and the alarm will not sound on time, if at all. If you are relying on it, change the power settings so the machine stays awake, or keep a phone alarm running as well.
Do I need an account or an app?
Neither. Choose a time and a sound, press Start, and it runs in this browser tab. Nothing is downloaded, nothing is registered, and closing the page leaves nothing behind on the device.
Can I change the sound?
Yes, there is a short list of tones to pick from before you press Start. Softer sounds are easy to sleep through, so a firmer bell tends to be the safer choice for anything early in the morning.
Will it still be right when the clocks change?
Yes. It reads your device's local clock, so the move between GMT and BST at the end of March and October is picked up automatically, as long as the computer's date, time and time zone are set correctly.
