How many days until Saturday?

Next Saturday: 15 August 2026. The counter runs to midnight, the moment this day begins (your device's time).

Saturday is the fullest day in the British week. Parkrun sets off at nine in the morning at hundreds of locations, junior football and rugby fill the pitches by ten, the league programme kicks off at three, and the classified results are read out at five in an order that has barely changed in decades.

It is also the main shopping day and the main day for weddings, which between them account for most of the movement through any town centre. Markets that trade one day a week trade on this one, and the car parks at National Trust and English Heritage sites fill by mid-morning whenever the forecast allows.

For a large part of the workforce, of course, Saturday is simply a working day. Retail, hospitality, transport and healthcare all run at full strength, and for many of those staff it is the heaviest shift of the week rather than a break from one. The countdown takes no view on which version is yours — it measures the same interval either way.

It runs to the midnight that opens Saturday, so a figure checked on Friday evening shows a handful of hours rather than a full day, and one checked on Saturday itself points at the following week.

Common questions

What time do Saturday football matches kick off?

Three o'clock is the traditional slot, and matches played at that time are not shown live on television in the UK.

Can the countdown ever show more than a week?

No. It targets the nearest Saturday, so the largest figure possible is just under seven days.
