How to use the online timer
Minutes cover almost everything a timer gets used for. Pasta, tea, a roast, a revision block, a workout, a nap, a meeting: all of them are planned in minutes because that is the resolution people actually think in. Nobody times a study session in seconds, and nobody sets a tea brew in hours.
Most pages on this site are built in minutes for that reason, from a five-minute breathing exercise up to a ninety-minute session in the gym. It is also the unit where the number and the reason behind it are easiest to remember, which matters when a timing has to be repeated tomorrow. Set a whole number of minutes, or minutes and seconds together when the task needs the extra precision, and leave it counting in the background while you get on with the thing itself.
