How to use the online alarm clock

Sunday runs to a different rhythm from the rest of the British week. Larger shops in England and Wales trade for six hours only, roasts go into ovens late morning, and Sunday league football fills the parks before most of the country is properly awake.

An alarm for Sunday tends to serve one of two purposes: getting up for something specific — a match, a car boot sale, a long walk with the light to use — or marking the point in the afternoon when the week ahead has to be thought about. Uniforms, packed lunches and the ironing pile all belong to Sunday evening.

The preset sets an alarm for the next Sunday at the time you choose it, and points a full week ahead if today is already Sunday.
