How to use the online alarm clock
Twenty minutes is a genuine cooking interval rather than a rounding-up of "a few minutes". Rice, most pasta bakes finishing under a grill, a tray of roasted vegetables getting its second stint, and a resting joint before carving all sit in this range.
Away from the kitchen it works as a study or work block — long enough to make progress on a single task, short enough that concentration holds without effort. It is also the outer edge of the useful nap, and a common length for a walk that is meant to be a break rather than an outing.
This preset sets the alarm twenty minutes ahead of the current time. It is a good default whenever something needs checking rather than watching, because it is exactly long enough to walk away from properly.
Common questions
Does the alarm keep running if I close the page?
It relies on the page staying open in the browser, so leave the tab running for the alarm to sound at the set time.
